BEEF We like to use fresh ground beef for our go-to hamburger recipe. The ideal amount of fat in an 80/20 blend keeps the patties juicy without letting too much grease run off. Try ground turkey for turkey burgers!.
SAUCE Include salt. In this recipe, since fresh onion and garlic don’t have enough time to cook, we use powders instead. Or try our signature Hamburger Seasoning!.
Although BBQ SAUCE is not required, it aids in caramelization and tastes great. We prefer homemade barbecue sauce.
How To Air Fry Hamburgers
Air Fryer hamburgers are super easy and quick to make!
- All the ingredients should be combined before creating 4 equal-sized patties.
Press your thumb into the center of each patty to prevent it from swelling in the center during cooking for perfectly evenly cooked hamburgers.
- Place the prepared hamburger patties in the Air Fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for approximately 9 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness, using the recipe below.
- If adding cheese, do so after cooking for one more minute before serving.
Cook the fries in the air fryer first and set them aside if you want to serve them with your burgers. Fries should be added back to the basket and cooked at 400°F for about 3–4 minutes after the burgers are finished cooking. Alternatively, oven fries are great served with these burgers.
Place lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and pickles on a serving platter to create a DIY burger bar where anyone can help themselves.
Tips for Perfect Hamburger Patties
- To keep the burgers moist, use meat that has a little bit of fat (80/20).
- Check the thickest part of a patty with a meat thermometer (160°F).
- Check your burgers early to make sure they don’t overcook because appliances can vary.
- You can use the air fryer to cook frozen hamburger patties, but you’ll need to add an additional 5 minutes.
- With parchment paper in between each patty, the hamburgers can be frozen. They’ll keep about a month in the freezer.
