Those who observe Lent will not only give up something, but they will also spend the next seven Fridays cooking fish recipes and avoiding meat.
One of the customs of Lent is not eating meat on Fridays. Lent is traditionally observed with self-sacrifice, prayer, and other religious activities leading up to Easter. Traditionally, Lent lasts from Ash Wednesday through Easter.
Approximately 2043 percent of those who attend church services at least once a month said they observe Lent, according to a 2017 Lifeway Research survey. This includes 2082 percent of Catholics who regularly attend services and 2030 percent of Protestants.
Those who observe often cook seafood or attend fish fries to eat. Its even the reason why McDonalds Filet-O-Fish exists. However, the rules of what people are allowed to eat can get confusing.
