How to Make Chocolate Covered Turkeys using Strawberries
- Rinse and pat your Strawberries dry and set aside.
- The pretzel sticks are TOO LONG if you don’t break off about 1/4 of the top; you will use the piece that is about 3/4 of the length.
- Cut your mini marshmallows in half, long ways. There will be two sticky parts inside the marshmallows.
- Attach the marshmallow’s sliced side to the top pretzel stick (be sure to use the broken end to ensure that the pieces that protrude are smooth and not pointed).
- Place your almond bark into a deep, microwave safe bowl.
- Once your chocolate is completely melted, heat it for 30 seconds, stir, and then heat it for an additional 15 seconds at a time.
- Gently dip the top of the marshmallow-topped pretzel stick into the melted chocolate bark.
- Place the pretzel/marshmallow leg on the strawberry’s right side and hold it there for about 30 seconds to ensure it sticks. Repeat with the left side!.
- Put your leg-attached strawberry on a parchment or wax paper-lined baking sheet, and continue with the remaining strawberries. (each will cook and harden as you continue to work).
- After the strawberry turkey legs are set, pierce the strawberry with a fork, dunk the entire strawberry in chocolate up to the stem, shake off any excess, and return it to the parchment paper.
- Continue making these strawberry turkeys until all of them are done, then chill the baking sheet in the refrigerator for ten minutes to set the chocolate.
- Melt your white almond bark in the same manner as before while those are cooling.
- Remove the baking sheet from the fridge.
- To create the turkey’s feet, grab the strawberries by the stems and gently dip the bottoms of each leg into the white chocolate park.
- Place each one back on the baking sheet and place it in the refrigerator to solidify.
- Cut your marshmallows & break pretzel tops
- Stick marshmallow to top of pretzel
- Dip thighs into chocolate
- Attach to the sides of strawberry
