These are perfect for Thanksgiving school projects or just hanging out at home crafting with your kiddos. In addition to our pumpkin desserts, tiny turkey party ideas, and Thanksgiving crafts, we also have some ideas for fall party themes!

So fall at school is apparently the time of the crazy, crafty projects. My little first grader has been a whirlwind of detailed, creative projects. The crafty, party-loving side of me was yelling, “Wahoo…let’s get crafting!” over the turkey disguise projects, while the busy, working mom side of me was sobbing on the bathroom floor. Okay, so maybe I’m exaggerating a little bit—a lot—but trying to think of an amazing Turkey in disguise made me go to my favorite spot—the couch with my iPad and the Pinterest app—to get ideas.

I found a few awesome ideas, my favorites I’m sharing below. My daughter, however, had her little heart set on DARTH VADER. That moment when your six-year-old daughter selects Darth Vader—yes, that one—makes you realize you are a great mom and you are doing things correctly. Just saying….

FAQ

How do you disguise a turkey with Cheerios?

Directions: Draw a circle, 5 wings, 2 legs, and 2 feet to create the turkey outline (nothing fancy needed here). Glue the Cheerios on the body of the turkey and the colored Fruit Loops for each of the feathers. Add googly eyes and a Fruit Loop or two for the turkey’s beak and waddle.

How to disguise a turkey as Iron Man?

Disguise a turkey. Iron man. I used a shoe box with a small light inside and cut holes in the eyes and chest so they light up!

How do you hide a turkey as a crayon box?

Cut the tab off of the box of crayons. Add glue to the top half of the back of the box. Place the box on top of the “feathers.” We liked to keep the box whole to allow the turkey to stand and be three-dimensional. You could cut the front off of the box of crayons if you wanted the turkey to lay flat.
