There is bread and typically some kind of milk to add moisture. There is an egg to hold it together. Seasonings, including salt, pepper, and onion, are almost always used. Ketchup or a tomato product of some type. And some green bell pepper is used in this recipe and many others.
The minimum safe internal temperature is 160°. Egg-containing casseroles and dishes, as well as ground beef, are both safe at 160°.
Typically, a one-pound meatloaf bakes for 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. That is assuming the loaf is about 1 inch thick. Thicker takes longer and thinner cooks faster. It will take between 1 and 1 14 hours to prepare a 2-pound meatloaf. An hour and a half to make a three-pound meatloaf. 1-pound meatloaf will take about 50 minutes at 350°. 2-pound meatloaf will take about 1 hour at 350°. At 350°, a 3-pound meatloaf will cook in between 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 hours. At 350°, a mini or cupcake meatloaf will bake for 20 to 30 minutes. The meatloaf’s size and thickness, the oven, and even the pan can affect the cooking time. Never cook by time alone; always cook to a final internal temperature. To protect your family, use a meat thermometer or instant-read thermometer.

Preheat oven to 350° convection or 375° conventional. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients, but do not over-mix. Pour the meat mixture into a baking dish. Like all meatloaf, do not over-mix.
After covering the meatloaf with the topping, bake it for about an hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°.
