It will give you the protein you need to get going in the morning, and the flavorful sausage makes for a wonderful start to the day, feeling like you’ve already pampered yourself.
I adore adding chicken sausage to scrambled eggs with cheese, veggies, and other ingredients. Additionally, it tastes great on sandwiches for lunch and in a vegetable medley for dinner.

How long do you cook chicken sausage on the stove?
One quick and simple way to make this kind of sausage ready for consumption is to cook it on the stove. Most of the time, it will only take ten minutes to fully cook chicken sausage on the stove.
However, it’s crucial to keep in mind that the cooking times for various brands and varieties of chicken sausage may vary. Therefore, it is best to always check the packaging or cooking instructions to find out how long to cook your particular variety of chicken sausage for.
How to Cook Chicken Sausages on Stove
Sliced up and cooked in a frying pan on the stovetop, chicken sausage can be prepared quickly and easily. Both adding oil and preheating the pan are not necessary. You can just toss whole or thinly sliced sausage into a frying pan and heat it over medium-high heat. Occasionally flip the sausage over to help it cook evenly and make sure all sides are cooked.
In a frying pan over medium-high heat, the sausage may require three to five minutes to fully cook if it is raw and uncooked. If it has already been cooked, all you are really doing is reheating it in the frying pan and lightly charring the outside to give it a charred appearance. If it has been precooked, cooking should only take two minutes.
If the outside of the chicken sausage begins to blacken and the heat is at the proper level, the chicken sausage should be fully cooked at that point. When cut, fully cooked chicken sausage exudes its own juices. When it begins to sizzle internally, you know it has finished cooking.
The internal instant read thermometer can be used to determine when the chicken sausage is fully cooked. Similar to cooking chicken breast or any other type of chicken meat, it should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sausage grilling is almost equally simple to do as stovetop cooking. This requires a grill setup, and it will produce stunning char marks on the sausage. Since small slices of sausage would fall through the grates, it is best to grill whole sausages.
Before adding sausages, make sure the grill has reached the desired temperature. Since this is a small piece of meat, you only need to use half of the grill, and you can probably cook as many chicken sausages as you like at once on the other half. Similar to how you would heat a stovetop to medium-high when cooking chicken sausage, the grill should be set to that temperature.
However, you won’t be using direct heat to cook the chicken sausage. Put the charcoal briquettes to one side of the grill if you’re using one, and then cook the sausage over indirect heat on the other side.
This enables you to carefully cook the sausage, ensuring that it is thoroughly cooked and doesn’t dry out. The texture and flavor of the sausage will be destroyed as well as become a little tough and dry if you cook it at an excessively high heat and too quickly.
You could bake chicken sausage if you have extra time. Although it takes longer to cook this way than the other options I’ve given you, it’s a good way to cook the sausage without having to watch it the entire time.
Keep in mind that temperature regulation is crucial when cooking chicken sausage. The heat shouldn’t be too high because that would cause the chicken to become dry. 375 degrees Fahrenheit is the ideal temperature for baking chicken sausage in an oven.
Wait for the oven to heat up before preparing your chicken on a baking sheet. Cooking spray should be used to clean the pan or the chicken sausage. This keeps the chicken sausage from sticking to the pan. Once the oven is fully heated, place the sausages in it with some space between them and bake for 20 minutes. That’s all there is to it.
