Some general tags are discounted:
On their second or subsequent full-price general or controlled hunt tags purchased in a calendar year following their first purchase, residents are eligible for a discount. Fees are $12. 25, including the vendor issuance fee. Three (3) general season tags can be purchased in a calendar year.
Special Unit tags are general tags that can be used in units 1, 2, 3, 4, 4A, 5, 6, 7, and 9 during the fall general seasons, in addition to designated depredation hunts. Fees are $5, including the vendor issuance fee. There can only be three (3) special unit tags in a calendar year (special unit tags acquired during a depredation hunt excluded).
Controlled Hunt Permit Requirements
No one may hunt wild turkey during a controlled hunt or with a landowner’s permission if they do not have the required hunting license and controlled hunt tag (see below). Any open general season hunt conducted in the same calendar year as the controlled hunt for which the hunter was drawn is eligible to use controlled hunt tags. See pages 24-25 for the list of controlled hunts.
