2025 Spring Hunt Dates
Florida has two Youth Spring Turkey Hunt Weekends:
- Feb. 22-23, 2025, south of State Road 70
- March 8-9, 2025, north of State Road 70
These Saturday-Sunday hunts, which take place on numerous wildlife management areas (WMAs) and on lands outside of the WMA system, are open to young people 15 years of age and under. See season dates for wild turkey and other game species.
Only young people are permitted to harvest gobblers or bearded turkeys during a Youth Spring Turkey Hunt weekend; these harvests count toward their two-trunk spring season bag limit. Youth hunters must be supervised by an adult 18 years or older. No license or permit is required of the youth or supervising adult. To call a turkey and engage in other aspects of the hunt, adult supervisors must possess a hunting license and turkey permit. Additionally, if the youth is hunting on a WMA, the adult hunter will also require a management area permit.
Youth Spring Turkey Quota Hunts
Quota permits are required for the majority of WMAs hosting the Youth Spring Turkey Hunt Weekend, and they can be obtained at GoOutdoorsFlorida. com or by completing the application worksheet and presenting it to any license agent or tax collectors office. Check the WMA regulations brochure for the area you’re interested in hunting before going afield.
