Lettuce Entertain You Enterprise (First Owner)
Another renowned Chicago-based restaurant group, Corner Bakery, was first or first to be established by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprise. Corner Bakery Cafe was sold by the foundation company (LEYE) to Brinker International, Inc. More than 1,500 restaurants are currently owned, operated, and franchised by the multinational hospitality company Brinker International, Inc. under the names of its other owned restaurants. After six years of ownership and operation, Brinker International Company decided to sell Corner Bakery Cafe.
II Fornaio (America) Corporation (2005-2011)
II Fornaio (America) Corporation took control of Corner Bakery Cafe and ruled it for almost six years. But Roark Capital Group acquired II Fornaio (America) Corporation at the end of 2010. An Atlanta-based private equity firm named Roark Capital Group later declared that it had acquired the entire chain of II Fornaio Restaurants and Bakeries. Additionally, they had declared that they are now Corner Bakery’s owners.
Roark Capital Group made this significant investment after having previously made investments in 20 different franchise businesses that were present in more than 50 states and 40 different countries. Roark’s tenth restaurant investment was Corner Bakery Cafe and II Fornaio.
The company was then sold to Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands by Roark Capital Group.
Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands, LLC (2011-To Date)
Corner Bakery was purchased by Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands LLC directly from Roark Capital in 2011. It’s interesting that the specifics of the private transaction weren’t made public. The Rohan Group of Companies owns Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands, LLC, through which Pandya operates brands like Boston Market.
Later, it was made known by Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands that the former owner, Roark Capital, had attempted to explore strategic alternatives for Corner Bakery by hiring restructuring and financial advisors, but it had failed. The newly appointed owner of Corner Bakery stated that their motivation and goal is to provide dependable customers with high-quality, freshly prepared food.
Additionally, Pandya Restaurants Growth aimed to enhance the general guest experience, menu development, and brand expansion. In addition to experiencing severe declines in earnings and revenues throughout the ongoing pandemic, Corner Bakery also experienced problems prior to the pandemic with declining average unit volumes 2. 4% last year.
Corner Bakery CEO Frank Paci appeared pleased that Pandya Restaurant Growth Brands, LLC had acquired his business. In an interview, he stated that this new business would aid Corner Bakery Cafe in growing and supplying the resources required to function in such a difficult environment.
The Cafe currently has 200 units in 23 states and 192 locations nationwide. There are many Corner Bakery Cafe locations, particularly in California, Texas, Illinois, and a few other states.
