What is a Tiger Stripe Pumpkin?
Smaller than most pumpkins, Tiger Stripes have a flatter shape. This makes them easier to cut into that round pumpkins. They are white with orange strips. On some specimens, the striping covers more of the pumpkin. And some will have some orange spotting.
The flavor is sweet and some what nutty. You will adore this one if you enjoy delicata squash. They tasty very similar. The skin can be eaten, just like Delicata, but I believe it is a little tougher than Delicata You decide if you want to consume it.
The best feature of these pumpkins is their small size, which makes them much simpler to handle.

These pumpkins seem to appear in mid- to late-September. I would say early October is the peak for them. After Halloween, you might be able to find them, but don’t wait to purchase them. They should last a while. Purchase them early if you want them for Thanksgiving in case you can’t find them later.

The way I normally cook pumpkin is in the oven. However, you can also cook one in an air fryer; I’ll get to that in a moment.
To roast the pumpkin, you should cut it in half. The simplest method is to adhere to the pumpkin’s natural grooves. Its pretty easy to cut. You can simply cut them in half because they are small.
The pumpkin can also be cooked by removing the skin and chopping it. Afterward, you can cook them in a pan with some oil.
I most frequently roast cooked pumpkin before pureeing it to use in a variety of recipes, like any of these.
These pumpkins ought to yield roughly 1 cup of pumpkin.
They would be ideal for stuffing and/or using as a bowl because of their diminutive size. Here is some idea for what to put in them.
My air fryer is my new favorite way to prepare pumpkins. Here is how to do it with the Tiger Stripe.
Slice the pumpkin in half with a sharp knife.
Scoop out the seeds. I think the best way to do that is with a wide ice cream scoop. It allows you to really dig into the flesh and get those seeds out.
Put the flesh-side up of the pumpkin into the air fryer basket. Liberally season with kosher salt.
Cook the squash at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a fork can easily pierce the flesh. After 10 minutes, check to see how the pumpkin is progressing.
Tip: Lower the temperature of the air fryer to finish if the flesh ever becomes too dark or burnt and before you can pierce it with a fork.
Once you have finished cooking the pumpkin, place the seeds that were inside in the air fryer as well.
I cook them for about 10-15 minutes until crispy. I lower the temperature after they’ve browned to make sure they’re tender.

I explained to my children that eating the cooked pumpkin in addition to the rest of the meal counts as a serving of vegetables.
They should be soft after 40 to 50 minutes of baking at 375 degrees. About halfway through I like to turn them over.

Yes, this pumpkin is named after the carriage in Cinderella. Despite being on the larger side, they may appear flatter than you would anticipate in person. Sometimes they appear a reddish-orange. They are still wider than tall despite not being quite as squashed as the flat white. This type of pumpkin tastes best in savory dishes.
Sugar pie pumpkins resemble your carved Jack O’ Lanterns but are smaller. They are perfect for cooking in a variety of ways because of their smaller size, whether you’re roasting or pureeing them to make pies or soups. It can be used to prepare both savory and sweet dishes when cooked.
But let’s settle a few debates before going any further. First off, because it is a type of squash, pumpkin is classified as a fruit rather than a vegetable. Pumpkins and other squash varieties (like winter squash) can be eaten. Gourds, on the other hand, are not edible. While gourds are only decorative, pumpkin can be used for both cooking and decorating.
Another variety that proves not all pumpkins are orange. The Jarrahdale pumpkin is small and bluish-green. They come from New Zealand and can weigh up to ten pounds.
