Okay, everyone, the season for grilling is now in full swing—at least in my household. When we Seattle residents see a little sunshine, we go completely insane. Seriously, my husband and I began organizing all of our summer cookouts as soon as the sun came out. We talked about it so much, that we got hungry. Before I knew it, we had arrived at the supermarket to purchase brisket. The brisket was supposed to be smoked the following day, but once more, we reside in the Northwest. So guess what happened the next day? You guessed it. It freaking rained! I had no intention of smoking anything outside in the rain, but I also couldn’t let myself go without brisket, so I chose to prepare it in the oven.
People who have never had oven-cooked brisket frequently believe that it will be flavorless, but this is not true at all. I personally season my smoked and baked briskets the same. I use my own homemade barbecue rub, for which I have a recipe here, to season my beef brisket. You can choose to use my barbecue rub or a store-bought one; however, if you don’t at least give mine a shot, you’re missing out.
Making brisket in the oven is really easy to do. The brisket only needs to be season and cooked for 7 hours. There is no need to flip or turn the brisket; instead, I slow cook it in the oven at 275°F. I cook the brisket in my dutch oven, but if you don’t have one, I recommend wrapping the brisket in foil and then putting it in a roaster pan or bake dish.

Substitutions and Variations For Beef Brisket
Use salt and pepper to season the beef brisket if you don’t have the other spices for this oven brisket recipe. It will still be delicious.
This beef brisket can also be prepared using chicken or vegetable broth, beer, or even salted water in a pinch if you don’t have beef broth on hand.
The beef broth will evaporate if your oven is extremely hot. In order to avoid overcooking, it is best to check the liquid level halfway through cooking and, if necessary, add a little more beef broth.
After the liquid has finished cooking, remove the fat and use the sauce as an au jus for dipping the brisket. Cool, don’t worry about it, and dip away if you don’t want to strain the fat. A little fat never hurt nobody! .
The cooking time for brisket in the oven can range from four to eight hours, and you shouldn’t rush it. Because beef brisket is a tough cut of meat with a lot of connective tissue, it needs to cook at a low temperature for a long time. Depending on the temperature of your oven, you should cook your brisket for between an hour and an hour and a half per pound on average. The highest temperature you should use in your oven is 325 degrees Fahrenheit; any higher and you run the risk of overcooking the interior and burning the outside.
If you want to save yourself some effort, you can also opt to make your brisket recipe in a slow cooker. That way, you can prep the meat, set the Crock-Pot, and walk away until its almost dinnertime. It takes 9 hours on low to slow-cook a brisket. Copyright © 2021 HowLongToCook.org
# Will Butcher Paper Catch on Fire when put in The Oven?
No, butcher paper won’t ignite inside the oven. Butcher paper should not, however, be placed directly on oven racks as this could result in the paper catching fire.
