How long to cook frozen turkey burgers?

A frozen turkey burger is one of my favorite things to prepare for dinner after a long day.

I frequently keep a package prepared for these situations in my freezer. It’s a simple, quick, and filling dinner that requires little effort.

I either cook one tiny patty or about four at a time because I live alone so that all I have to do later in the week is quickly reheat it.

I’ve provided instructions on how to prepare different numbers of turkey burgers at once because the majority of people will be preparing dinner or batch cooking for more people than just themselves.

To cook frozen turkey burgers in the oven, preheat the oven to between 375 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and cooking oil, season your patties with salt and pepper, and place them on the baking sheet with some space between them. Bake for 16 to 20 minutes.

The longer it takes to cook the burgers to the desired internal temperature of 165°F, the lower the temperature you use or the number of patties per baking sheet you use.

How To Cook Frozen Turkey Burgers On The Stovetop

1Prepare your pan or cast-iron skillet: Place it on the stovetop and heat it to medium-high, being careful not to let it get too hot.

2 – Prepare the individually frozen turkey burgers by disassembling them, removing the wax or parchment paper, and throwing it away.

3. Add oil to the skillet: Add the hot oil and allow it to become thin and shiny.

4 Cook the burgers: Set the frozen turkey burgers in a hot, oiled skillet and leave them there for three to five minutes. After that, turn them over and let the other side cook for 3-5 minutes.

5 Season the turkey burgers: Before the second side is cooked, season the first side with salt and pepper. Then, do the same on the other side.

6 – Flip until cooked: To continue cooking and avoid burning, flip the turkey burgers every 2-3 minutes. The burgers will be fully cooked in around 15 minutes, depending on their size.

7 Remove the burgers from the skillet and top them with your preferred toppings once they have reached an internal temperature of 165°F.

What You’ll Need

  • Frozen Turkey Burger Patties – These can be found in the frozen section of almost any grocery store. Popular brands include Great Value, Jennie-O, Butterball, and Perdue.
  • Cooking Oil – This will help prevent the burgers from sticking to the skillet and add flavor. You can use any cooking oil, including olive oil, vegetable oil, canola oil, or even butter!
  • Salt and Pepper – Even though seasoning is optional, sprinkling a bit of salt and pepper onto the burgers once the outside layer is defrosted is a great way to enhance their flavor.
  • Skillet -To cook your frozen turkey burgers on the stovetop, you’ll need a large skillet or cast iron skillet.
