Green beans are one of my favorite vegetables and sides, and these Instant Pot Garlic Green Beans are the ideal side dish to go with any main dish or to eat on their own, depending on your preference.
Five minutes and five ingredients will get you a nutritious meal that will make you want more. This straightforward green bean recipe is ideal for a holiday meal as well.
I used to think that green beans were a flavorless vegetable that could only be improved by adding bacon, who knew they could have so much flavor. Although bacon does indeed improve everything, these green beans do not require any.
Prepare a batch of these green beans to discover what you’re missing. Theyre crisp, theyre crunchy – and theyre fast!.
Cook Time for Green Beans in the Electric Pressure Cooker
Instead of letting them “stew” for several hours on the stovetop or in a slow cooker, these southern-style green beans only need to be cooked for 25 minutes.
Green beans actually take much less time to prepare than this (only a few minutes), but I cook them longer so they become incredibly soft and the flavors combine even more.
These green beans cook up so much faster in the pressure cooker than they would on the stovetop, making them a simple side dish for a weeknight meal.
In addition, you should think about serving these as a delectable side dish with your Easter, Thanksgiving, or Christmas dinner!
The fact that they cook in the Instant Pot makes it even better because you can set it and forget it while preparing the other dishes for your holiday menu. How convenient, right?.
This is one of my favorite Instant Pot green bean recipes, so enjoy, friends!
How to Make Pressure Cooker Green Beans:
The process is actually about as simple as it gets. Just place all the ingredients in the Instant Pot’s insert pot.
Normally, I add a little salt and pepper now, and if necessary, more after the cooking is finished.
Put the lid on with a twist, then use the Manual/Pressure Cook setting to choose a 25-minute high-pressure cook time.
After the cooking period is over, quickly release the pressure. Carefully remove the lid once the pressure has subsided and the valve has lowered.
If desired, remove the bacon strips. Stir everything well and, if necessary, season with additional salt and pepper.
What is Southern Style Green Beans?
It is a very well-liked and common side dish in the South.
The string beans are fried in bacon grease while the bacon is pan-fried. Bacon is cut into one inch pieces. The fat from the bacon will render. A nice and rich “broth” is created when the onion liquid is combined with it!
The pot is filled with liquid, and the beans simmer for a few hours until they are incredibly soft and tender.
Tender sting beans are the star of the show.
The cooking broth’s flavor is enhanced by the addition of minced onions and garlic.
With a sharp knife, dice the onions and mince the garlic.
For the best flavor and texture, use fresh sting beans. Green beans should snap when broken in half.
There should not be any brown spots on them.
