Do you pierce sausages before cooking?
The juices in your sausage will be lost if you pierce these air fryer chicken sausage links or any other type of sausage before cooking them. And they’ll be dry.
Typically, sausages split as they cook because the meat and juices expand. They may split and some juice may spill out as a result, but generally speaking, they won’t cook or become dry unless you pierce them all over to release all of their juices.
If you’re concerned about biting into a particularly juicy sausage dog, keep in mind that letting them cool a bit before you enjoy them will prevent them from spitting out hot juice.
Since they have already been cooked, grilling them in the air fryer really just involves heating them up. And browning them up. For these sausages, a meat thermometer is not even necessary; simply heat them until they are thoroughly heated.
