These homemade hash brown patties are unbelievably delicious and crispy. The perfect accompaniment to any breakfast style sandwich!.
Perhaps because I’m British, but whenever I think of hash browns, I immediately think of patties. Since I’ve spent the last ten years eating McDonald’s hash browns, I don’t think I’ve ever had hash browns that fill the pan. Speaking of McDonald’s, these haveh browns are VERY similar (just tastier). Follow me….
How to Make Frozen Hash Brown Patties in the Air Fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees.
Put the frozen hash brown patties in the air fryer in a single layer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping once halfway through.
Let the hash brown patties cook for a few minutes longer if you prefer a crispier texture. An extra 3 to 5 minutes should help.
Since most frozen hash brown patties already have oil in them from the time they were cooked, you can prepare this dish without using any oil at all.
If the patties do start to become too dry for your tastes, you can use an EVO Oil Sprayer to spritz them with some oil to restore some moisture.
While preparing these hash brown patties, I have never had to do this.
Take the patties out of the air fryer, give them two minutes to cool slightly, and then eat them.
Can I Stack the Hash Brown Patties in the Air Fryer?
Although it’s acceptable to stack the majority of frozen foods in an air fryer, I don’t suggest doing so with these hash brown patties.
Once cooked, the patties become somewhat brittle and may crumble if stacked.
My general rule of thumb is that foods like French fries, chicken wings, and roasted carrots can be stacked if the basket is shaken to rotate the food rather than flipping it with a spatula.
Make Ahead Hash Browns
These are best made fresh. The more moisture the salt draws out and the longer you leave them, the soggier they become. When I previously tried this and put them in the fridge right before frying, they were far too soggy to cook.
