What You’ll Need:
- Paper plate
- Brown acrylic paint
- Colored cardstock or construction paper (brown, yellow, red, orange)
- White cardstock
- Kraft paper
- Glue stick
- Paintbrush
- Scissors

Let’s Get Crafty!
- Download and print the turkey craft template. You can find the template at the end of the instructions on the Simple Everyday Mom website.
- Cut out the template pieces.
- Paint the paper plate brown and let it dry completely.
- Glue the turkey wing to the center of the paper plate.
- Assemble the turkey head by gluing the eyes towards the top.
- Glue the snood onto the beak and trim off any excess.
- Glue the beak onto the head, just below the eyes.
- Glue the completed turkey head onto the paper plate.
- Position the feathers along the backside of the paper plate and glue them in place.
- Place the feet at the bottom of the paper plate and glue them on.
And just like that, your cute paper plate turkey is finished! You can use it as a festive Thanksgiving decoration or proudly display your little turkey masterpiece.
Bonus Tip: Turn your turkey into a “Thankful Turkey” by writing things your child is thankful for on the feathers. This is a great way to encourage gratitude and reflection during the Thanksgiving season.

STEP 1: The first thing you need to do to make your paper plate turkey, is to paint the back of your paper plate brown. We used brown acrylic paint, and just added some to the top of each kid’s plate and let them cover the plates using a paintbrush. By doing this, we kept them from using too much paint on the paper plate.

Using scissors and/or craft knife (adult only), cut around your turkey’s body leaving the outside rim of the paper plate intact. 3. Paint your turkey’s body brown and allow to dry. 4. Chose paint colors for your turkey’s feathers.
