Featured CommenT”Wow! Legit the best turkey burgers ever! For so few ingredients, these were incredibly flavorful. I used frozen spinach and they turned out perfectly. Made two pounds – one for the fam, and one for me for leftovers “
- Ground Turkey: 92–98% lean turkey works exceptionally well! You don’t want any lower because there will be more moisture and the pan will get sticky. If you prefer beef burgers, you can replace the turkey with lean ground beef; ground chicken is also delicious! I haven’t tried plant-based ground meat like Beyond Beef or Impossible meat, but I’m sure it could work as well.
- Feta Cheese: Super tangy. Works so well with ranch seasoning, too. For your turkey burgers with feta, you could purchase the block and chop it; I used crumbled.
- The ranch seasoning is what adds SO MUCH FLAVOR to our burger. It is usually made with a mixture of onion powder, garlic powder, dill, parsley, chives, salt, black pepper, and dry buttermilk powder. You can find it in the dressing isle of most grocery stores.
See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.
Its crucial that the spinach and onion is diced finely. If they are too large, the burgers risk falling apart while cooking. Use a vegetable chopper for the onion for convenience.
Grilling Turkey Feta Burgers
If you’re going to grill these Ranch Turkey Burgers with Feta, youll want to use tinfoil. If you just throw them straight onto the grill, they might crumble because of how many ingredients they contain. I always cook mine in a skillet and they stay together every time. I think a grill pan could work, too!.
If the burger ingredients are too big, it will not hold its shape as well as it could, so chop the onion and fresh spinach fine! If you do notice that the burger patties are falling apart before cooking, you can try adding ¼ cup of bread crumbs or an egg to the turkey burger mixture. It will act as a binding agent and help the burgers maintain their shape.
Store cooked Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. These turkey burgers freeze incredibly well, making them ideal for meal prep. Simply wrap each burger in plastic wrap, then freeze it for up to three months, either raw or cooked. If freezing raw patties, let come to room temperature before cooking.
The toppings I usually add to these burgers are: Tomatoes, butter lettuce, pickles, mayo, cheese, ranch, avocado, and some sort of aioli (this truffle aioli or this chipotle aioli). Other ideas for delicious toppings: Mustard (regular, honey, dijon, or spicy brown!), raw or grilled onions, mushrooms, bacon, or hummus! Ive also taken the direction of greek turkey burgers and added tzatziki sauce on top, which is delicious, too.
