Repair guides common to all ranges
You can safely repair any issues with your range by using these step-by-step repair instructions.
The oven door switch assists in controlling the oven light by determining whether the oven door is closed. If the switch is not effectively controlling the oven light, replace it.
If the oven door won’t lock, you can fix it in less than 30 minutes by replacing the lock assembly. Heres how.
What Does F31 Mean on a Frigidaire Oven?
You cannot use your frigidaire oven if the code F31 appears on the controlling display of the oven. This F31 error code denotes a shorted circuit or temperature sensor in your oven.
Your oven won’t operate if you encounter this error until you fix it. Incorrect temperature signals could put you in danger and contaminate your food. But don’t worry, you can easily fix it by doing a few simple things.
Check the wiring connection first. Turn off the oven connection and any other propane connections to accomplish that. After that, remove the screws and open the back panel. Now check all wiring connections and remove all connections. Finally, fix those again like before. Plug all the screws and turn on your oven. If the oven functions properly and doesn’t display the F31 signal once more, you are successful. If not, there may have trouble in your sensor circuits. Let’s check it out.
To test the sensor circuit, unplug the sensor’s wire connection and do so at room temperature. With your voltmeter set to check resistance, measure the volume through the purple wires on the connection line. At standard temperature, it should test approximately 1,080 ohms. Set up all of those connections as before if the sensor satisfies the requirements; otherwise, you must replace the sensor.
The f31 signal will disappear once you identify and resolve the exact issue, and you can resume regular use of your frigidaire oven.
How Can I Test the Temperature Sensor in My Oven?
It’s simple to check your oven’s temperature sensor probe. At room temperature, measure the space between the two wires at the sensor connector’s end. At standard room temperature, the sensor’s resistance should be between 1080 and 1090 ohms. Thus you can test your temperature sensor.
