To ensure a bountiful feast, Franklin will request your assistance in gathering ingredients for his culinary creations. These ingredients can be found all over your island, including:
- Mushrooms: Flat, round, and skinny varieties
- Crops: Pumpkins and potatoes
- Fish: Sea bass, red snapper, barred knifejaw, and dab
- Sea Creatures: Manila clams, scallops, mussels, sea urchins, and oysters
Villagers as Ingredient Suppliers
If you’re struggling to find a specific ingredient, don’t fret! Your helpful villagers are here to lend a hand (or claw). Visit them in their homes, and they’ll trade you one of Franklin’s requested ingredients in exchange for a more common ingredient they need for their own cooking.

Gather Ingredients For Franklin
On Thanksgiving Day, Franklin will request a variety of ingredients from you to prepare each recipe; the majority of these ingredients will be revealed, but one will remain a mystery until you speak with your villagers in their homes.
Fish, sealife, mushrooms, and pumpkins are just a few of the ingredients you can easily gather on your own at any time around your island for Turkey Day cooking. Be sure to check your house storage to see if you have any already.
You can get one of these ingredients by trading fish to villagers inside their homes if you can’t find it naturally, such as if there aren’t any mushrooms on your island or pumpkin plants to harvest.
Just check all of your villager houses until you find someone cooking at a temporarily added kitchen. They’ll ask you for a particular fish, or smell one out of your pockets.
When you give the villager the requested fish, they will assist you by suggesting a potential ingredient, which is typically related to the dish you are currently working on but isn’t always the case.
More significantly, locals usually give you a hint regarding the secret ingredient for a recipe you have to prepare. Keep an eye out because you must use these ingredients to improve Franklin’s meals in order to earn bonus rewards.
In contrast to previous Animal Crossing games, all of the ingredients for the Turkey Day event can be collected by you in the usual way; special ingredients, such as butter, flour, milk, sugar, and vinegar, that are exclusive to villages are not present.

You can get Manila Clams by digging up squirting spots on your island’s beaches. The scallop is obtained by searching the ocean for marine life, and it is then used as a key component to improve clam chowder.
The Pumpkin Pie recipe can be cooked on Turkey Day using the following ingredients:
- 1 Orange Pumpkin
- 1 Random:
- Green Pumpkin
- White Pumpkin
- Yellow Pumpkin
- Secret: Two Pumpkins not originally requested.
You can grow Pumpkins by purchasing Pumpkin Starts from Leif year-round, or at Nook’s Cranny during October. First, Franklin will ask for an orange pumpkin and one other random color. The other two colors will be used later as hidden ingredients to improve the pumpkin pie.

You can find Mushrooms growing around trees during November. Mussels, Oysters, and Sea Urchins can be found by diving for sea creatures in the ocean. Squids can be fished from the ocean. Vegetables like potatoes and carrots can be grown on your island by farming.
You can also find Dungeness Crab by diving, and it’s the secret ingredient that makes the Gratin taste even better afterward.
Depending on which island hemisphere you are in, you can use the following ingredients to make the Fish Meunière recipe on Turkey Day:
