- Each of the three drives a potent Grand Tourer from Georgia to Azerbaijan; Clarkson chooses the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, which is BP 67,000 more expensive than the DB11 (which weighs BP 225,000 less). With him, Hammond chooses the newest Bentley Continental GT (626 BHP, opulent interiors, and incredibly comfortable for long drives, 6L twin turbo W12, 211 mph, whisper quiet, 715 BHP), while May chooses the new BMW 8 Series (Bp 100,000, 4 4 wheel drive, 523 horsepower, 4L turbocharged V8, 8-speed gearbox) The Aston and the BMW have poor voice activation systems. They travel more than a thousand kilometers, starting in the Black Sea and traveling via highways, country roads, and picturesque cities. They face numerous obstacles along the way to decide which of their selected GTs is the best. Their first town is Gori (birthplace of Stalin). They go to the home where Stalin spent his formative years. That evening, May and Clarkson smash the head off of a local Stalin statue and use it as a masthead for Hammond’s vehicle. Along the way, they stop at the Russian-Georgian border, where a fence has been erected by Russia and is gradually moving into Georgian territory at night. This is how they are annexing Georgia bit by bit. One villager went out at night and was fenced behind the Russian barbed wire, unable to return to his home. Next, they find a racetrack at Tbilisi. Aston can drift even with the traction control on. The Bentley weighs 2. 25 tonnes, but it is equipped with a lot of technology to accelerate, such as dynamic suspension, active diff, torque vectoring, and more. The Bentley also drifts around corners. Although the BMW is the lightest in terms of power and weight, it more than makes up for it with technology. 4-wheel drive, 4-wheel steering etc. Around the track Aston: 2:00. 0, Bentley 2:04. 8, BMW 2:05. 8 Next, Mr. Wilman instructs the three to consume three pints of water, wait twenty minutes, and then repeat their laps. The whole country runs on Lada cars. The trio stop at the town of Ganja. May makes the decision to demonstrate that their fast cars aren’t really any faster than a regular car in the real world. He takes Abbie on a 50-mile drive to the “Garden of Paradise” in an ancient Renault 9 wreck. The task is to pass Abbie after giving her a two-minute advantage. They then travel to Azerbaijan’s enormous oil fields, where rigs are working nonstop to extract oil from the earth. They find a crude oil spa where Clarkson takes dip. The trio sum up their cars. Although Hammond and May adore theirs, Clarkson doesn’t think the DBS is worth the additional cost. Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, is home to a street Formula One race. In order to race their cars on the real track, the three ask for the roads to be closed. The Aston goes out of control on a wet track, but the BMW and Bentley finish almost equal, with the BMW just managing to edge ahead. In attempts, the result is the same. They soon arrive at the world’s largest inland body of water, the Caspian Sea, which is located 50 feet below sea level. May discusses the BMW’s lane-keeping system, which keeps you between the white lines on the road, when they are back at the tent. Because it couldn’t be turned off, May was unable to maintain straight racing lines during the race because the BMW system kept repositioning the vehicle between the lines on the pavement. Clarkson concurs with Hammond that out of the three, the Bentley is the best.
