LOVER’S HILL SUNSET POINT

Lover’s Hill, also known as Asiklar Tepesi, is the most popular place to watch the sunset in Goreme Town, Cappadocia, though there are a few other great spots as well. It is also known as “Sunset Point” if you are staying in town, which is a pretty good indication that this is THE place to go for sunsets.

Lover’s Hill Sunset Point is a short stroll from most of Goreme’s hotels, which accommodate the majority of Cappadocia tourists, contributing to the town’s charm. Reaching as far as Uchisar and Goreme, Ortahisar Castle is one of Cappadocia’s best viewpoints, providing stunning views!

At the base of the castle, you will first navigate a maze of cobblestone lanes and pathways. There is a chance that you will become distracted by either a wine cellar, a cafe, or both. The climb up only takes approximately five minutes because you are only going to the middle of the castle and not all the way to the top. The way leads you through the inner caves, ladders and exterior stairs of the castle.

The castle is bathed in a golden light just before the sun sets, providing stunning views in every direction. The platform boasts a lookout that can be seen from three different angles. While Goreme has a ton of incredible things to do, Ortahisar and Uchisar are also worth visiting because of their stunning castles and surrounding trails.
